Weather at AMA 2023

Dear AMA friends,

It looks like we will be enjoying some mountain rain showers next week! There is about a 50% chance of rain showers each day of camp this year. Please be prepared for cooler temperatures in Sacramento, NM, with highs around 70 degrees and lows around 50 degrees. Layers or light jackets may be desired. Umbrellas or rain ponchos might be useful as well, especially if you plan to participate in activities. Please note: all rooms/dorms have heaters that are still operational in June!

We will be heading up the mountain with great expectation of what the Lord will do at AMA 2023. Please help us pray for a great campmeeting move of the Holy Ghost!

Updates on AMA 2023

 Dear AMA Friends,

If you are still planning to register for AMA 2023, please note that Forrest Lodge, Aspen Lodge, and Family Life Center are FULL and have waiting lists for changes/cancellations. Please help us pray for the blessings of the Lord on A Mountain Apart 2023!

There is still room at AMA 2023. You may register for Ayers-Laity rooms, RV space, or even tent camping (shower facilities are available).

The Ayers-Laity dorms can accommodate adults and families. The youth campers at AMA occupy one wing in each of these dorms. Adults and families staying in Ayers-Laity will NOT be in the same halls as the youth campers. Each wing can be closed off and has its own doors and staircases for entry/exit.

Each family unit has their own private room and share a Men's/Women's restroom facility with a few other family groups in the same wing. The restroom facilities are in each wing, just a few doors down from any sleeping room. Each restroom has several sinks, toilet stalls, and shower nooks.

Please contact us with further questions at aMountainApart@gmail.com or 505-573-1589.

Info for AMA 2021

"A Mountain Apart" 2021 is just around the corner. We anticipate a great work of the Holy Ghost as we gather in the mountains starting Monday, June 7. Here are a few details we would like to share to help you prepare for campmeeting next week:

  • Temperatures: It looks like we will have beautiful weather, with high temps in the 80s and lows in the 50s. The campground is at high elevation, so you can sunburn without feeling hot. Please consider hats, sunscreen, and how to stay hydrated with a refillable water bottle. Many people find that they want a light jacket for the cool nights.
  • Bedding in dorms: Please remember that you must bring your bedding and towels for all dorms except Forrest Lodge. You may want to bring an extra layer of some kind to go between the vinyl mattress and your bedding.
  • Forrest Lodge is not providing blankets/comforters this year, so please bring your own. All other pillows, linens, and towels are provided in Forrest Lodge.
  • The campground serves three FULL meals per day, but if you would like something from the Snack Bar after evening service you would need some extra cash.
  • The only extra charge for recreation options is the Trail Ride on horseback. The cost is $25 and you can register on Monday at the Welcome Center.
  • All of NM is currently in the Turquoise level of the state re-opening plan. The official mask policy in NM currently is: "Masks are recommended indoors unless you are fully vaccinated." The campground will have signs posted, but the staff will not be enforcing any mask mandate.
  • We have included a Packing List on the Forms page to assist your preparation for camp.

  • If you have not yet completed the Camp Waiver/release forms for the Sacramento campground either in print or online, please follow  this link  to complete the forms online.
As always, please contact us with questions: aMountainApart@gmail.com

Latest news on AMA and dorms

Thank you for praying!

Otero County, NM (which includes Sacramento) has gone into a less restrictive category with the NM covid regulations and is likely to change to the least restrictive category next week. This will allow 100% occupancy of the dorms! We recently made a planning visit to the campground and they are posting and abiding by all mask rules among the staff but are leaving those choices to each individual guest.

This post is to inform you that Forrest Lodge and Aspen Lodge are FULL.

You may still indicate that you would like to be on a waiting list for those dorms, but please register for Ayers dorm if you have not already sent your money and registration forms.

If you are planning to come to AMA but have not sent money or registration forms yet, please contact us by email: amountainapart@gmail.com

We are looking forward to seeing God's people "a mountain apart" to pray and seek the Lord. We are confident and so thankful that He will meet us there.

Update on AMA 2021 room occupants

We have received an update that we can now put non-related guests in the same dorm room.

Please continue to register all related persons together on a family form and make note of youth campers who would like to stay in youth dorms.

If you would like to share a room with someone not related to you, that is now allowed. Please complete a Family/Adult registration form for each family group or individual and make note of the people who will plan to stay together.

When a dorm is full according to current occupancy limits, we will continue to take registrations for the waiting list. If occupancy limits change, we will then be able to place people from the waiting list in the desired dorm. You will have a place to stay regardless!

Don't forget to complete the Camp Waiver for each person 18 and older. Minor children can be listed on a Camp Waiver together with a parent or parent signatures.

Please contact with questions: amountainapart@gmail.com

In response to questions...

Dear AMA friends,

We know there are many questions about the lodging and activity restrictions at the Sacramento campground. Please understand that these regulations are likely to change in the next couple months. Each county is given a rating update every two weeks and the rating system is being revised this month as more than one third of NM residents have been vaccinated against COVID-19. The Sacramento campground staff have committed to work with us to provide the best camp experience possible under whatever guidelines are in effect when we arrive in June.

We simply cannot predict what the lodging rules will be in June, therefore, the most effective way to register for AMA at this time is by family units. As we get closer to camp we will be able to make more informed decisions about dorm placement for teens and young adults. The goal is to have a registration process that can be flexible as things change.

We hope this helps answer some questions and alleviate some concerns. We are looking forward to a great time on the mountain with God's people!

Feel free to send questions to amountainapart@gmail.com or call 505-573-1589
